About
Technique first. Gear second.
Burr & Brew is an independent publication about home coffee and espresso. We write buying guides, brewing how-tos, and method comparisons for people who want a better cup without the marketing noise.
This is a new site, and we're upfront about that: every article is researched from established brewing science and widely documented technique — ratios, extraction principles, and gear categories that any experienced home brewer would recognize. As the site grows, that foundation is what gets built on.
How we write
- No fake reviews. You'll never find a star rating or a "we tested 12 grinders" verdict here unless genuine hands-on testing happened. Our buying guides teach you what to look for instead of pretending we crowned a winner.
- No invented prices. Gear prices shift constantly; we'd rather teach you how to judge value than print numbers that go stale.
- No sponsored rankings. If this site ever earns affiliate commissions, every affected page will say so — see the affiliate disclosure.
- Technique before gear. Most bad coffee is a technique problem, not an equipment problem. We say that plainly, even when it means telling you not to buy something.
What you'll find here
- Guides — step-by-step brewing how-tos and what-to-look-for buying education.
- Comparisons — honest method-vs-method breakdowns (pour-over vs French press, burr vs blade) with no fake winners.
Found an error?
Coffee people care about the details, and so do we. If a ratio looks off or a technique description misses something, we want to know — corrections make the site better for everyone.
